Date: 18th Nov 2022
Walker has announced Deloitte will become a major tenant at its state-of-the-art Festival Tower in Adelaide’s city centre from 2024.
Deloitte will occupy four floors at Festival Tower, approximately 7,000 square metres, to accommodate a projected increase of up to 1,000 new employees over the next five years, taking the total number to 1,500.
South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas said Deloitte’s presence in Walker Corporation’s Festival Tower is a strong endorsement of South Australia’s future from a global professional services firm.
“Festival Tower was always going to attract the best in business, and we are excited to see Deloitte become an integral part of our thriving Riverbank precinct,” Mr Malinauskas said.
“A thousand more jobs created for young South Australians is proof that big business sees Adelaide as the future for investment.
“Deloitte’s major commitment helps reverse the brain-drain with good paying jobs to keep our brightest minds here in Adelaide.”
Walker Chief Executive Officer David Gallant said Deloitte’s move to Festival Tower reaffirms its position as the number one place to do business in Adelaide.
“Deloitte’s presence will be the impetus for many other blue-chip organisations, looking to position themselves in the true heart of Adelaide,” Mr Gallant said.
“Festival Tower is an integral part of South Australia’s best urban transformation with unrivalled connectivity linking to trains, trams, buses and active transport.
“Festival Tower is bringing premium quality to Adelaide’s commercial office space market that has never been seen before, and that is creating strong demand in our leasing enquiries.
“Festival Plaza will be activated like never before into a buzzing mixed-use precinct with quality restaurants and shops surrounded by open space and Walker is currently in negotiations with some of South Australia’s most exciting and well-known retailers.”
Deloitte Adelaide Managing Partner Hendri Mentz said this move to Festival Tower represents the next stage in Deloitte’s growth journey in Adelaide and further demonstrates Deloitte’s enormous confidence in the South Australian economy and its exceptional young talent market. “We continue to focus on providing exciting and challenging career opportunities for young people,” Mr Mentz said.
“We are proud to have had more than 140 graduates join us in the last 12 months, with a further 130 joining us by March 2023. This builds on the recent expansion of our consulting practice, and the exceptional growth of Deloitte’s Adelaide-based Centre for Innovation and Technology, which develops large-scale technology and audit solutions for clients nationwide.
“Our move to Festival Tower reflects our unwavering commitment to our clients in Adelaide in delivering relevant and integrated services, whilst also raising the benchmark in modern workspaces, by enabling our people to collaborate more effectively than ever before.”
Festival Tower will be the most sustainable, all-electric office building in Adelaide with a 6-star Green star rating, a 5.5-star NABERS rating.
More than 4,000 workers will call Festival Tower home from 2023 with over a thousand jobs being created during the construction of the 29-level tower, delivering a vital employment boost to the state’s economy.
